The report back from the Energy transformation challenge – Making it a reality II, BCECA’s 4th virtual annual conference was published at a special reception in the House of Lords on Tuesday 14 January 2025.
Fluor Project Director and BCECA Chair Mark Stanton welcomed guests from across the UK engineering contracting sector and its supply chains to a networking event hosted by the independent Cross Bench Peer, Lord Ravensdale.
Lord Ravensdale offered a brief update on recent developments in UK energy policy, including December’s signing of the first contracts to support the development of carbon capture, usage and storage on Teesside, positive developments around the creation of workable hydrogen offtake agreements and signs of progress towards the reform of Britain’s infrastructure planning laws.
The reception was generously supported by Centuro Global, whose CEO, Zain Ali, was on hand to share his thoughts on the role of AI tools in removing the compliance barriers that hold up so many energy transformation projects. Drinks and canapes were served courtesy of long-standing BCECA member Bechtel.
The conference report, which contains four key conclusions and recommendations for action needed to accelerate the journey to Net Zero, is now available in e-book format via the BCECA website.
Individual sessions and speaker presentations from the 4th virtual conference, which saw over 500 participants, can be viewed replayed here.
