We shape skills development, share knowledge, and promote best practices in engineering project execution. We also showcase the diversity of opportunities in engineering contracting to inspire a pipeline of future talent. This is possible thanks to the active engagement of a range of talented and experienced professionals who are released from their demanding day jobs to share ideas and insight, raise awareness and improve our member companies' collective effectiveness.
In 2024, we expanded our virtual offer with a series of webinars examining topics, including the changes to the UK's 'IR35' rules, which have made the engagement of off-payroll contractors more complex. We've also looked at the ECITB's latest interventions to support economic growth by tackling industry recruitment and retention challenges. Planning is well advanced for our 4th virtual annual conference.
Two new expert networks were launched focusing on the specific needs of our growing consultancy community and the challenges facing women engineers in what is still widely seen as a male-dominated sector.
